	University of New England’s School of Business, Economics and Public

Jacqui Johnson, founding CEO of Buzz Insurance and winner of the 2010 Australian Business Award for Innovation, will be the guest speaker at a special event sponsored by the University of New England’s School of Business, Economics and Public Policy.

The event will take place at the New England Regional Art Museum (NERAM) on Thursday, August 12.
Entitled “Transparency in the Business World”, Ms Johnson’s presentation will focus on issues challenging businesses today including the rise of social media, customer expectations about choice and control, partnering and employee engagement.




	Ms Johnson said employees made the difference when it came to the crunch. “You have to keep a constant vigil on the culture and behaviours required to drive innovation. Recruiting for skill and the cultural traits that align with the business culture is vital.” It was also important for businesses to look at new technologies to help drive innovation, Ms Johnson said. Ms Johnson will be in Armidale to speak with the business community as well as students from the University of New England’s School of Business, Economics and Public Policy. Head of School Prof Alison Sheridan said she was delighted that UNE students would have the opportunity to engage with “a truly innovative business leader.”


	“We are also very pleased to be working with the Chamber of Commerce to bring this presentation to the wider Armidale business community,” Prof Sheridan said. Special Event: Speaker Jacqui Johnson will take place at the New England Regional Art Museum on Thursday, August 12 at 5:30pm for a 6pm start. Cost is $25 for Armidale & District Chamber of Commerce Members, $35 non-members and includes presentation, wine and light refreshments.
